Eduardo J. Valdes joined the firm in 2012, bringing nearly a decade of prior experience in general litigation, insurance defense, and commercial litigation. Since then, his practice has focused primarily on community association law and construction-related matters, serving as a trusted legal advisor to condominium and homeowners’ associations on all aspects of governance, operations, and compliance.

Mr. Valdes has extensive experience guiding associations through developer transitions, contract negotiations, governing document enforcement, financial management, and directors and officers liability concerns. He regularly assists associations with drafting and amending declarations, bylaws, articles of incorporation, and rules and regulations; negotiating vendor contracts and condominium loans; managing election procedures; and advising on corporate governance best practices. He also works closely with boards and property managers to ensure compliance with Florida law, fiduciary duty obligations, and industry standards, helping associations proactively mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.

In addition to governance matters, Mr. Valdes has significant experience in construction-related issues, particularly those impacting community associations. He has worked extensively with associations on construction defect claims, major repair and remediation projects, warranty enforcement, and disputes involving contractors, developers, engineers, and design professionals. His expertise includes contract negotiation, project oversight, risk management, and ensuring compliance with warranty and building code requirements, helping associations navigate complex construction matters while protecting their long-term interests.

Mr. Valdes has also represented associations before the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) and assisted clients in resolving building code and fire code violations with local municipalities. His experience extends to mixed-use development concerns, easement issues, commercial lease matters, and assessment collection strategies, ensuring that associations have the legal support needed to address both day-to-day and high-stakes challenges.
